      THE UNTAMED SPIRIT OF ISLAY

Ardbeg has been called “as close to perfection as makes no difference,” by whisky connoisseurs. Proof then, that Ardbeg truly deserves its incredible reputation. It's a whisky that's worshipped around the world. In the past ten years, six different Ardbeg expressions have won prestigious titles including World Whisky of the Year, Scotch Whisky of the Year and World's Best Single Malt.

      DISTILLERY OF THE YEAR

Ardbeg was recognized as Distillery of the Year at the International Whisky Competition in 2018, 2019, and 2020. A lot goes into finding the perfect balance of flavor that is Ardbeg, and it all begins at our home along the southern coast of Islay, since 1815.

      Distillery of the Year
      Ardbeg Ten

Ten Years Old is revered around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, most complex Single Malt of them all, perfectly balanced with fruity floral sweetness and complexity. Its maturation in ex-Bourbon American Oak casks creates a balance of sweet vanilla and bold spice. Multi-award-winning, Ardbeg's flagship whisky reflects the best of Islay.

NAMED WORLD WHISKY OF THE YEAR IN 2008

      COLOR: Light Gold

AROMA: Exceptional balance and depth. Toffee and chocolate interwoven with smoke

TASTE: Crackling peat with tangy lemon and lime juice, black pepper pops with sizzling cinnamon-spiced toffee. Brine infused with smooth buttermilk and ripe bananas

FINISH: Long and smoky with tarry espresso, aniseed toasted almonds and traces of soft barley and fresh pear

ABV: 46%, non chill-filtered for maximum flavors

Wee Beastie is Ardbeg’s newest permanent expression is the youngest Ardbeg ever. Wee Beastie is matured in a mix of Ex-Bourbon & Oloroso sherry casks for just 5 years. The younger the whisky the more powerful the smoke, making this untamed new expression stand out amongst all other Islay Malts. A rich, explosive mouthfeel with lots of chocolate, tar, creosote and smoked bacon, followed by a burst of antiseptic lozenges, eucalyptus and more aniseed.

AROMA: Very bright, fresh, herbal, with hints of vanilla, pear, freshly cracked black pepper, honey glazed ham

TASTE: Chocolate, tar, creosote and smoked bacon, followed by a burst of antiseptic lozenges, eucalyptus and more aniseed

FINISH: A long, salty and mouth coating finish with hints of cocoa, fudge and savory meats

      ABV: 47.4%, non chill-filtered

      Wee Beastie
      Ardbeg An Oa

An Oa embraces its contrasts. It is inspired by the Mull of Oa, the cliffs protecting the Ardbeg distillery from the wild Atlantic Ocean. It brings together the finest casks and balances roundness with Ardbeg's signature intensity. To create the complexity of An Oa (pronounced “An Oh”), whiskies are matured in Pedro Ximénez casks for sweetness, Virgin Charred Oak casks for spiciness and ex-Bourbon American Oak casks for intensity. These different parts are then married together in the bespoke Gathering Vat.

AWARDED BEST ISLAY SINGLE MALT AT IWC 2019

      COLOR: Light Gold

AROMA: Rounded and subtly smoky, with creamy toffee, aniseed, treacle and dates

TASTE: Smooth, creamy. Syrupy sweetness with flavors of milk chocolate, aniseed, orange nutmeg and smoky tea leaves

FINISH: Lingering, seductive, gentle yet intense

      ABV: 46.6%, non chill-filtered

Uigeadail is Gaelic for “a dark, mysterious place.” Named after the distillery's water source, Uigeadail (pronounced “Oog-a-dal”) is a marriage of sweetness, spice and deep smokiness. The peat-laden waters of Loch Uigeadail provide the smoky tones in this scotch, while maturation in ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks imparts rich, warm flavors – perfect for a dramatic, stormy night. It marries Ardbeg's traditional deep, smoky notes with luscious, raisiny tones of old ex-Sherry casks.

NAMED WORLD WHISKY OF THE YEAR IN 2009

      COLOR: Deep Gold

AROMA: Sweet and smoky aroma with caramels, fudge, walnuts and leather

TASTE: Chewy and oily mouthfeel with flavors of dried fruit, spiced smoked meats and barbecue

      FINISH: Sweet, spicy and smoky

ABV: 54.2%, non chill-filtered at a high strength, which retains maximum flavor and adds depth

      Ardbeg Uigeadail
      Ardbeg Corryvreckan

Corryvreckan is a phenomenally deep, swirling dram named after Europe's largest (and the world's second-largest) whirlpool, off the coast of Scotland. Corryvreckan's raw, magnetic power exactly mirrors the big and untamed spirit of Ardbeg. This deep, peppery Single Malt encapsulates the allure of this natural wonder. A heart fully matured in toasted New French Oak, Corryvreckan is heady and intense – and as powerful as its namesake. It displays the peatiness for which Ardbeg is renowned, with unique dark, chewy flavors and a long finish.

      THE WORLDWIDE, WORLD-FAMOUS ARDBEG COMMITTEE

      JOIN THE COMMITTEE

It's a quirky fact that Islay, with a population of just 3000, has more than 140 Committees. And the biggest one of all? The Ardbeg Committee, with a worldwide membership of over 120,000 and counting.

No matter how near or far, our members share a common purpose; to celebrate the re-awakening of Ardbeg, spread the word and dispense drams to those deprived of knowledge of this untamed spirit. Join us today.

“Absolutely the best committee I've ever sat on and the only one that meets at midnight beside a Celtic Cross.” Dr. David Wishart, Scotlands Best Single Malt.
